This morning I concluded the work I've been doing with Constru Casa as a volunteer, this time on the office side of things.
Through discussion with Stefan and Carolina, we determined that what the organization needed most was a new model that they could use to communicate the built houses, as well as use as a promotional tool. Also, there were some minor CAD updates to be done to their drawing sets, those used both for presentations and during construction by the master masons.
Since model materials weren't available the first week, I began on the drawing side of things, tackling first the items per Stefan's list, then moving into some suggestions of how to re-organize the drawing sets, and ending with some vignettes in Sketchup for promotional purposes...
The idea with the model was to create a highly portable + durable entity that could have a permanent home in the office, while also be easily transported to/from town meetings, or whatever the destination might be...
My idea for a 'housing for the model' was to reference the 'Caja de Almanil' --> that is, the master mason's tool box, as a carrying device, which would provide all the necessary criteria, including protection and portability.
Working behind the scenes with CC proved to be a fantastic learning experience through which I was able to connect with some great people, all while having lots of fun! (model building and drawing, among other things...)
